Kim "Shikira" Kanner

Inlewd.com's own CJDark recently conducted an interview with "ex WCW Diva" Kim Kanner (Shikira) about her career, her life, and anything and everything wrestling fans would want to know! We are pleased now to present this exclusive interview with one of the hottest women on the planet! You can visit her web page at http://www.kimkanner.com

CJ: First of all let me start by saying I am an incredible fan, and admired your work in World Championship Wrestling. On your web page http://www.kimkanner.com (cheap plug) for a "photo caption" it reads that you like 'handcuffs' and 'cops'. Consider that to be the transition in to my first area of interest. Many of LEWD's readers consider you to be one of the 'hottest' (if not THEE HOTTEST) women in the world and a 'sex symbol' so to speak. I would be hard pressed not to ask a question they have been demanding to know. Here goes, Are you single? And are you a "freak"?

KK: Thank you so much for your wonderful compliments. Now let me answer a few of your questions. I'm kidding about the handcuffs, I think? As for the cop thing, my Grandfather, Father, and Uncle were NYPD hard core. So, I guess that shows my love for cops. Am I single? Yes, I am, but not married and sorry fans my heart is taken. As for me being a "freak." Sure I am, Aren't all women, Ha!! By the way, Scottie gave Mindie and me that Freak title.

CJ: Most of the women I have known have been "freaks". Maybe you are on to something there! Would you ever consider posing, for 'Playboy' or 'hustler' magazines? Or doing any type of work such as that with any other publications?

KK: Playboy, Playboy, Playboy?? I talked with playboy last year, but I decided to pass. I'm not saying no or never. It's all about timing and business smarts.

CJ: Speaking of timing and business smarts, can you give us an update on where your career is heading to now? Are you negotiating to get back in to the pro wrestling game, or are you focused on new avenue's outside of pro wrestling with your career at this point?

KK: I have been very busy with other opportunities that have been thrown my way, but that doesn't mean that I'm not interested or miss the wrestling world. I still am in touch with a lot of the former WCW Wrestler's as well as some of the WWF big wigs. I guess you could say the ball is in their court.

CJ: Speaking of the WWF "big wigs" what are your thoughts on the WWFE acquisition of WCW?

KK: I think it's a good thing. It was very sad to see it happen, but look how bad the ratings were. Maybe someday they'll have the opportunity to make a come back and I hope I'll be there to see it.

CJ: Turning to World Championship Wrestling for a while, you did work with Scott Steiner! Can you give our readers some inside info on the REAL Scott Steiner. He has gotten a pretty bad reputation in pro-wrestling over the past few years (bad temper and being political) however; as these things typically happen in the wrestling world you never know if it is actually how the individual is, or just certain people trying to damage his standing in the community.

KK: Scottie is a wonderful person and has always been very passionate about wrestling. What most people don't know is how much the WCW was disorganized. This in turn made a lot of the talent look the same way. Hence the fall of the WCW. This is where Scott's so called rumors of his temper would come into affect. When something went really wrong. Scottie was defiantly there to tell them they F-up and they could have really hurt someone. If you ask the talent that had the opportunity to wrestle with him. They would only have the positive things to say as he is a Professional. Scottie is also a very intelligent man and I miss working with him very much.

CJ: Early on in your WCW career you worked with the Nitro Girls What are your thoughts looking back at the entire concept of the Nitro Girls and what were your thoughts when Eric Bischoff was replaced with Vince Russo, and Russo's idea of using women was totally different from Bischoff's, and he decided the women should also compete in the squared circle as well as valet for the male wrestlers?

KK: I think the concept of the Nitro girls was great, but they certainly should have been on camera and used more often. As for Russo taking over for Bischoff. BIGGGGG Mistake! I believe Bischoff knew the value of the women and how far he should take it. As for Russo it was all about ratings even if the women had no experience and looked like ass holes out there. Also, I believe that the women that have true passion for wrestling. Should be the ones in that so called squared circle. By the way, wasn't Russo hired as a writer?? Well, I guess he showed all of the fans and corporate WCW his true talent. Hey Russo, "Don't let the door hit you in the ASS!"!

CJ: Very well said, yes Russo was hired as a "writer" I believe. I will turn away from the pro wrestling world now, and focus on MUSIC! You formerly worked in the music industry with some 'hardcore' bands such as Korn, Incubus, House of Pain, Cypress Hill, and, Funkdobiest. I would be lying if I didn't admit I was a fan of each of those groups! My question is the following: can you give us some information on what it was like to work in the rock n roll business as compared to the pro wrestling business? What type of work did you do with these bands? Any wild or interesting stories you can relate to us about any of the following groups?

KK: The music industry was not really all that much different then Pro-Wrestling. I mean your on the road a lot, living out of hotel's, on and off planes, doing your gigs and signings. It's just more physical. As for what I did. I worked in management and the label end. Here's something interesting. I remember Jonathan of Korn recording in a studio in Malibu Calif., with his new born baby right by his side. The baby slept through the entire recording. I'm sure all you Korn fan's would understand this as being a bit strange not of Jonathan, but of the baby sleeping though it. Ya know, considering their music.

CJ: Strange would be the word for it in my book. When it is all said and done, when your career is coming to an end, what do you want people to say about it all? And more importantly what do you want to be able to look back on it and say about it all?

KK: If your asking me how I would want to be remembered in the Wrestling world. I think I would be… Kim Kanner was a very smart, giving and fun loving person that truly showed her attributes on and off camera. She will always be remembered and admired.

CJ: What do you, Kim Kanner believe in?

KK: To be true to yourself and others and always be willing to help others when in need. "Good things come to good people ten fold,"

CJ: What are your thoughts on politics?

KK: Hell I voted! That's all....folks!

CJ: I am going to play the over played NAME GAME with you now!! I'll name five names, and you give me your instant reaction to those names off the top of your head. We will start with The Rock.

KK: Big smart ass brother, gotta love him!

CJ: Vince Russo

KK: The great fall of the WCW.

CJ: George w. Bush

KK: Lower my taxes!

CJ: Jonathan Davis (Korn)

KK: Sweet talented man great dad!

CJ: Kim Kanner.

KK: Kim Kanner (Shakira "The Freak") I'm always smiling for you and by the way. I was voted having a Sensational smile by my High school Varsity Football team. Ha!!!
