THE OPENING
The show opened with Al Snow telling the contestant's that one of them would be cut over the next 24 hour period and this was their 24 hour notice. The contestant to go would be the one that did not perform as well as the others over the period of the current day. Collectively I think the entire nation was probably thinking, "YES! DARRYL IS GOING TO GET CUT!".
THE WORK OUT
Al Snow told the contestants that last weeks lesson was learning bumps and the correct way to take those bumps. He told them they must continue to take those bumps to get conditioned to take bumps in the future.
Greg and Josh had voice over vignette's talking about Victoria and how they had to look the other way when she was taking her bumps. She always fell right on the back her neck. They got across the point that if she didn't learn how to take the bumps correctly she could get seriously hurt.
A NEW EXERCISE BROUGHT OUT BY AL SNOW
Al Snow decided to teach the contestants how to perform a headlock take over. We saw all of the contestants working with Snow trying to perform this takeover with most of them getting it wrong.
Snow became upset because he was constantly being hit on the head through this maneuver. Al Snow finally had enough and told Josh that if his head was hit again on the way down he was "going to bite his nipple off."
HEADSCISSOR EXERCISE
Al Snow was working with the contestants in the ring doing a headscissor exercise when one of the more entertaining moments of this weeks show happened. Snow was in a headscissor by Darryl (the world most favorite contestant) and Snow asked Darryl to change his sweat pants because they stunk. He asked him if his shorts had the same problem and if not to please change in to his shorts because his sweat pants really did stink.
Darryl got out of the ring and went to change and was mumbling words under his breath at Al Snow as he was walking to the back of the building. Snow heard this mumbling and called Darryl back to the ring for a face to face confrontation.
Snow told Darryl not to disrespect him or piss him off. It became clear to me, and probably the entire world that Darryl had just sealed his fate and was about to be cut from the contest! Sort of a bitter sweet feeling for me. On the one hand I had so much hope for Darryl and even picked him as one of my favorites at the start. And now he was going to be gone from the show. I was happy and sad, because after getting to know Darryl and realizing the type of person he is, I wanted him to stay on the show long enough to get punked out by Tazz!
DARRYL'S SIDE OF THE STORY
Darryl talked about what happened next and informed the entire world he didn't know what he did to piss off Al Snow, and doesn't know why Snow doesn't like him. I am sure the entire country was left thinking Darryl is either stupid, or oblivious to the fact that he is a moron!
OTHER CONTESTANTS SHOOT ON DARRYL
Greg pointed out every action Darryl does offends somebody and his words offend all of them every time he speaks.
Various female contestants echoed these sentiments by Greg and also stated they don't like to work with him in the exercises because he hurts them and smells.
WWFE TRAINING FACILITIES (THE WORK OUT)
We see the female contestants showing off their bruised legs. Darryl is present trying to entertain the entire country in his unique way. He was talking about how he fears Mike Tyson and Tazz. But he could beat Evander Holyfield by decision and Riddick Bowe in the ninth round. He had a smile on his face like he was being semi serious and half joking around.
MORE SHOTS AT DARRYL
Chris told us the more Darryl talks the more people get negative opinions of him. Chris said it is as if Darryl denies how everybody reacts towards him. As he said this we see Darryl doing some shadowboxing and making an ass out of himself acting like he is a main event prize fighter. The rest of the crew just roll their eyes at Darryl's high schoolish attitude.
BACK AT THE HOUSE (CAN WE REST?)
We get our weekly dose of Victoria explaining that she doesn't know if she wants to do this anymore (yeah, either quit or shut up about it!).
Bobby Jo and Paulina are discussing taking pain medication before every major grueling exercise to cut down on the pain.
Where is Taylor? Or Nidia? These women never are featured. Well Nidia was in the hot tub with Chris on the last show. But what about Taylor? She has to be the biggest kept secret on this show. I am sure when the contestants start to be cut, maybe we will get more focus on those who remain. I certainly hope so.
DARRYL TELLS US WHO IS GOING TO GET CUT
Darryl not only has a high schoolish attitude he also has the ability to tell us who the judges are going to drop from the contest, because he is such a great worker and has busted his ass so much in this contest that he alone should be the expert on being able to tell us who is going to get the axe. It would have been a good prediction if he had looked in the camera and told us he was going to get cut because he was such a fuck up! But instead he informed us Victoria would be the first to go because she can not get the back bumps down correctly.
"BIG" JOHN IS BACK!
"Big" John was back again on the show, and Victoria and Bobby Jo pulled him aside to discuss something with him. We have seen this before, and we knew what was coming next. Or did we? Bobby Jo and Victoria both told him they did not want to continue with their training and they did not want to be pro-wrestlers anymore.
DARRYL WAS RIGHT, WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR THE SHOW?
The saddest part of Victoria calling it quits was she proved Darryl to be right. Other than that, Bobby Jo leaving wasn't a big loss to me. She was only there to get in to PLAYBOY anyway. I guess it is back to living a fantasy life trying to get in to PLAYBOY for Bobby Jo.
Paulina was starting to have doubts since these two quit. They were much better then she was and she didn't know if she should stay now.
The cast was informed Bobby Jo and Victoria had dropped out and Al Snow thanked both of the girls and wished them luck. Snow told the remaining cast members he was not sure if someone else was going to be cut (which
was the original plan). Al Snow made it clear to all the constestants
remaining nothing was going to change because the others quit, and he
was not going to "go easy" on them to make sure they didn't quit the
show as well.
LATER THAT NIGHT - THE FALL OUT BEGINS
Many of the contestants were seen calling home and explaining what had happened. Darryl called his mother and told her that things were not going really good. Which could have been the understatement of the decade. She told him to say his prayers and everything would be okay.
Maven and Josh later that night were horsing around and it got a bit out of control at one point. The problem was centered around 'noise' issues with some of the contestants trying to sleep. It spilled in to a mini wrestling contest with Maven and Josh, and in the process it knocked over a small candle which was burning in the room Josh was in.
A small fire broke out next and was promptly put out by the contestants before it did much damage.
THE NEXT MORNING
Darryl was driving the vehicle when the rest of the crew was laughing about the antics of the previous night and mentioned they had a fire.
Of course Darryl was shocked to hear there was a fire because he was sleeping and had no idea they had a fire. The rest of the contestants were joking around about what had happened the previous night and on Darryl's face was a look of being pissed off or upset.
Darryl commented that he felt a bit left out because he had not known about the fire until the next day.
BACK AT TRAXX TRAINING FACILITY
Al Snow informed the contestants that nobody was going to be cut this week due to the two females leaving the contest. The contestants talked about Bobby Jo and Victoria leaving for a while.
One of the contestant's pointed out that he told Jason not to quit because if he did, it was going to OPEN up the flood gates and people would start to drop like flies.
ENTER TAZZ
Tazz explained to the remaining contestants that he looked at Bobby Jo, Victoria, and Jason as being "quitters" and by quitting the show they "weeded out the crap."
Al Snow then decides to add a new exercise to the mix. He says he does not think the contestants have been able to feel like they were being smothered in the ring yet. So he decides to fall back on an old Amateur wrestling trick and "ride" the contestants.
The object is to get down in the four point Greco-roman wrestling set position and Al Snow would grab them from behind. The object next is for the contestant to try and break Al Snow's hold around their mid section and escape from the set position to their feet.
We see all of the contestants taking part in this exercise and nobody escapes, until Greg gets out and is congratulated by Snow.
ANOTHER NIGHT OUT, BUT A NEW TWIST IS ADDED
The women are informed they are going out to dinner, but not alone. They are going out with Stephanie McMahon. Some of the faces on the guys had a tone of a bit of jealousy when this was announced.
Stephanie McMahon was referred to as "real" and a "totally cool chick" by the female contestants. They really built her up a lot for being as nice as she has been to them.
MORE WITH AMERICA'S #1 SUPER HERO, DARRYL!
Darryl told us how tough it has been on him to realize he is never going to play college football again. He talked about how he had been looking at old photo's from his final season. And he told us how he signed some autograph's for kids in the grocery store. The rest of the guys that were listening to this story had a look of pain on their faces. Probably their facial muscle's tensing up because they were holding themselves back from telling Darryl he was full of shit.
Darryl asked to talk to Chris alone because he noticed there was a tension between the two. As Jim Ross would say, "BUSINESS IS ABOUT TO PICK UP!".
BUSINESS PICKED UP ALRIGHT
Chris listened to Darryl and then it was Chris who got to speak. Chris told Darryl he doesn't work out as hard as the rest of them and that has gotten on everybody's nerves. Darryl quickly pointed out that if he is worn out he isn't going to strain himself working out just to make them happy. Chris told Darryl it was fine if he felt this way but he should keep his opinions of being the best to himself. Darryl fired back by telling Chris they have to understand he is a "cocky son of a bitch". And Chris told Darryl he has to realize people don't like a "cocky son of a bitch".
The other guys get in to the discussion about Darryl with Greg taking the side of Chris mainly and explaining to Darryl the same things. Maven doesn't have a problem with Darryl because he only is concerned about himself and isn't concerned about anybody else.
Darryl proclaims that perhaps he will tone down his attitude a bit and "maybe not talk about all the great things I've done, so much." After all of this, he still hasn't got it, I am in shock.
TRAXX ONCE AGAIN, BACK ON TRAXX
After we see the contestants working out for a few minutes. We are shown the contestants being informed the game plan has changed. Al Snow has a match at SmackDown!! and the contestants would be attending the show. Al Snow made it clear to them he did not want them acting unprofessional and running around acting like it was a big deal to be there. I had visions of Darryl running up to the APA and asking for their autograph's and for Bradshaw or Faarooq to look at him and verbally tear him a new asshole, or better yet beat the hell out of him for my entertainment!
John told the contestants they had front row seats and this popped them big time. We see them celebrating the chance to go to the show like it was WRESTLEMANIA 18 or something. But you have to realize at this point these kids lives has been training to become a pro wrestler and living in a household with each other and calling their loved one's on the phone. They have absolutely NOTHING to look forward to day to day with the exception of working out, training, and being in pain. So this is there WRESTLEMANIA 18. This is a night out watching pro wrestling up close, front row center, at a WWF event. And being admonished on the show as being part of the WWF. I can understand why they marked out over the announcement. And you could tell it wasn't something the WWFE told them to do for the sake of the show. It was spontaneous and real.
Hell, I marked out for my Mick Foley autograph which I got a few weeks ago, and with that said, I can understand why these kids marked out.
SMACKDOWN SHOW!
We see footage of what happened at that SmackDown!! show and I remember it slightly. I think I remember SMACKDOWN! even showing the contestants way back when and thinking about the debut of the show back then. But I can not really remember that well to be able to say for sure. Anyway, we see the remaining contestant's in the front row enjoying the show.
(Interesting note: If they were featured on SmackDown!! like I think they were way back when, it is interesting to note that the missing members of the cast (who quit before this appearance) were not on that SmackDown!! and it would have given away those contestants did not win. But of course no one knew the concept of the show back then to be able to actually know it meant three members had quit before they had a chance to win.)
THE CLOSING WORDS
Going in to the SMACKDOWN show we had obvious questions as to a number of the remaining cast members. Paulina was doubting her efforts and it was pretty obvious she might leave next. Darryl was thinking about college football and what he lost, and maybe he was going to leave too.
But to close the show Paulina said watching a live event was powerful for her and she wanted to be a wrestler. And Chris ended the show by saying that he wanted to "win this damn thing."
