Tough Enough opened with a run down of what happened on the previous episode.
Pete said he missed Danny. Matt said Danny got cut because he lacked something but he had no idea what the WWF was looking for as far as personality goes.
TRAINING
Bob Holly was still riding Hawk pretty hard. Holly said Hawk is just a naturally goofy kid and has a ton of charisma which works in his favor.
We see Matt having a hard time working out for some reason today. He finally dumps himself out of the ring and explains he hurt his knee a few days back. We see footage of Matt hurting his knee while doing his optimum training. Matt is dejected because he does not want the knee to hurt his chance at the competition.
"Big" John tells Matt he has to tell them when he is hurt, and it might not be something major. They will have a doctor look at it and quite possibly the doctor could tell him to take a few days off and that is all.
Bob Holly rides Hawk to look mean in the ring. We see Hawk trying to do his mean look but he constantly cracks up doing it.
BACK AT THE HOUSE
Hawk is looking in the mirror practicing his 'psychotic look'. The other contestants are not helping him much as they are all laughing at him. He manages to get a cool psychotic look down anyways. They are all impressed with his look finally.
ANOTHER PHYSICAL CHALLENGE
The contestants go to Santa Barbara City College for another of the Physical challenges. They are supposed to race around the track and the up and down the stadium bleachers touching each step as they go.
Jacob was leading on the male side. He went up the stadium steps and was bending over to touch them with his hand. "Big" John yelled to him to just touch them with his feet. Pretty humorous moment.
Jacob defeated the men easily in the competition. Jackie and Linda were nose to nose competing for the female victory in this challenge. Jackie slipped and fell (missed a few of the steps as well in the process) but got up and finished first. She got the victory (even though I don't think she really did).
The winners got a day off of optimum training and WrestleMania tickets. Linda looked dejected and I sensed she wasn't thrilled with the decision, but she did not bitch about it (which was a good thing).
LUNCH WITH BIGS
"Big" John bought all the contestants lunch.
MATT AT THE DOCTOR
Matt was at the doctor while the rest of the contestants were eating lunch.
The doctor told Matt he would have to take 6-8 weeks off. Matt told him he had to get back in to action by the next day. The doctor said this was not going to work out. He wanted him to be able to walk when he was 70, and he had to take 6-8 weeks off. It was obvious Matt did not care what the doctor had to say and he was going to work out the next day regardless of the doctors opinion.
BACK AT TRAX WEST
Matt appeared at Trax West the next day. He told Al Snow and "Big" John what the doctor had said. He wanted to stay in the competition. He did not want to quit. Al Snow and "Big" John told him they could not allow him to stay with his injuries. It was not his time right now. Matt was upset but had no choice but to drop out of the competition. Matt said this was not his time right now but he was not going to give up and he would get to the WWF one way or another.
GOODBYE TO MATT
Matt said his goodbyes to the rest of the contestants. Al Snow took his chair and put it against the wall. Snow told us that Matt has a lot of potential and he hopes he does not give up his dream because of this set back.
THE MOST MISERABLE MAN ON THE FACE OF THE PLANET ARRIVES
Tazz is in the house.
Tazz told the contestants he was going to take them to WWF RAW tonight. We see them arriving at the arena and checking in. We see the fans going crazy when they realize Al Snow was driving the car they were in.
Jackie said she got a lot of respect for Al Snow when she saw how the fans reacted to seeing him driving the car. The rest of the contestants seemed markish in this experience. Hawk and Jacob were humbled by it and acted like professionals. Kenny and Alicia seemed to act star truck from what I had witnessed (marks).
We see them interacting with many of the WWF superstars (too many to list in all seriousness). Lets just say all of the wrestlers were very friendly to them and shook their hands as they came in.
"LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT"
Bradshaw was with Faarooq (yeah, this was the official last appearance of Bradshaw and Faarooq in the same building until Backlash!) and he saw Jacobs hair cut. Bradshaw said, "Let me get this straight, you went in to a barber and asked him to do that to your hair?" Faarooq played along and said, "Yeah, he wanted that hair cut!". It was a pretty funny moment.
PROMOS FOR ALL
We get back to the television production area. And we have Brooklyn Brawler and Coach back there. So we knew what was coming. Just like last year we got to see them cut promos.
Every contestant in this competition blew this opportunity. Jacob had his interview scripted. But he was thrown a fast ball when Brooklyn Brawler told him he had to be "Goofy" instead of his character (like Josh has to be the Sponge). Jacob stumbled over his words and the promo really sucked. The rest did not have any luck either.
That was until this years Maven moment happened. Hawk cut a promo that was excellent. One would expect Hawk to not be a good promo maker since he was horrible at the character development sheet. But Hawk has "it".
Hawk has that something inside of him that allows him to disconnect himself from reality and dig deep down inside and become his character. Probably because he is insane. I am not kidding. He does not care about how people look at him, so he can and will do anything to get himself over. And that is what makes a good wrestling personality.
"Big" John acknowledged Hawk's craziness is a big advantage and is now working in his favor.
ENTRANCE RAMP
Al Snow took them all to the entrance ramp and to their seats. They watched the show and all the trainers wrestle matches. Bob Holly chopped Franky Kazarian and turned to the Tough Enough 2 contestants and told them "Now that's how it's done!".
For those keeping track. This was the RAW telecast which saw Steve Austin v. Chris Jericho for the WWF Undisputed Championship in a steel cage match (if you want to go back and watch the show and look for the contestants sitting at ringside during the entire show!).
THATS IT!
We all were left at home wondering if the show was over. It was. It went by so fast! I love this show. It should be on more then 30 minutes.
THOUGHTS:
I think it is time to give my thoughts on a few things. First of all, My pick is OUT. So all bets are off. Matt was my pick. Since he is gone, I have to find a new favorite. I like Hawk a lot. I think Hawk can be a Jake Roberts type of heel using great psychology. I don't like Jacob at all anymore.
I guess because he is the one contestants with the GREAT BODY. He wanted to be in his promo. He has the mentality that he is better then the others because he has a great body. I don't think wrestling needs another GREAT BODY. I think wrestling needs depth. Great psychology. I think Hawk has the tools to be an instant superstar on the heel or face side, because he has that psychological extra something. So he is now my favorite. We will see if the curse continues with my favorites.
On the female side, I think Alicia should have been cut already. I hope she is soon. I don't like her because she talks behind peoples backs and then lies about it. She abuses pain medication to get by, and she should be disqualified for that fact. Linda is good if the WWF is seriously considering developing athleticism in the women's division.
Jackie of course has the T and A appeal to be on WWF TV right now. And I have a feeling if she (WHEN) wins she will even surpass Nidia and make it to WWF Television faster the Nidia. I think she has depth and can hold her own on promos. And I think she will win because she has the biggest breasts (I am serious).
I want to see my favorite win. I want Jessie to win because she is so small and cute. She could make a ton of money for the WWF and herself. And it would be compelling to watch a smaller woman try and make it in the WWF. But we shall see where it all leads.
