THE CASTING SPECIAL
THE OPENING
The show begins with the camera zooming through the contestants and over to the Caesar's Palace arch-way (with Caesar's Palace engraved in stone).
We get an overview shot of the WWF Tough Enough 2 ring with Caesar's Palace written in large bold-white-lettering on the light-blue ring mat.
A nice opening video package is shown now with the judges for this show. The first being the returning Tough Enough Trainer Al Snow, then Bob "Hardcore" Holly, Ivory, Chavo Guerrero Jr., "Big" John Gaburick (WWF Talent Man), Jim Ross (Senior Vice Pres. of WWF) and Kevin Dunn (WWF Executive Producer).
THE JUDGES ARE LOOKING FOR
Bob Holly tells us what he is looking for is "somebody with athletic ability".
Jim Ross, Al Snow and Chavo Guerrero are featured in a segment telling us what they are looking for. They are going to utilize the Physical challenge to determine how they look at each individual contestant.
Basically all three of then are looking for athletes who can do physical tests, such as push ups and clapping your hands between each repetition.
They are looking for Athletes who have mobility and balance, jump over a series of strategically placed gym bags in the middle of the ring with out losing balance of falling.
And athletes who have great mobility and physical skills, who can perform the ever so popular (yet complex) kip-up.
WORDS WITH THE CONTESTANTS
Jake #175. We learn Jake is a Fireman and has been for two years. He thinks physically he is in better shape then the other contestants. We see him run in to the ring and slide under the bottom rope.
He performs the push-up repetitions perfectly. He did a perfect kip-up. Jacob tells the judges he is 6'4 245 lbs and has 20-inch pipes (arms).
The judges laughed when he said this. Jacob took offense to that and he moved towards the ring ropes finally resting both arms on the top rope. He challenged the judge to come in to the ring and see if he thought it was funny after he came in to the ring. Al Snow told him to get off the ring ropes. Jacob did so, and they thanked him for coming.
(Jacob is a finalist just when he slid through the ropes. The guy has a great look, great hair cut, and great physique. He didn't have to do much but stand there to make the show, in my opinion).
Katrina. She is 19 from Milan, Michigan. She is a student at UM Morris in Minnesota and is on the wrestling team. She said her father has been her coach ever since she was 6. She did the push-up repetitions fairly well. Katrina said she had to fight her father to allow her to become a wrestler, and she was in a camp with 15 other boys and won all five of her matches.
While she was on the microphone Katrina began to cry uncontrollably. She said she was nervous because she wanted to do well. Ken Mok (Executive Producer Tough Enough) asked Katrina what the most difficult obstacle she has had to overcome so far in her life was.
Katrina chokes out she was in a serious car accident in March of 1999 and she broke her back. She had to go through physical therapy and is totally recovered now.
Bob Holly asked her, "Why are you crying right now?". Katrina said "I want this so bad".
(Katrina was so cute she should have made the show just because she was a hot chick, and one of the guys would kill to get down her pants. It would have been great TV. But her existing medical condition of the broken back probably would have ruled her out in my book. Remember what happened with Greg last time? You don't want her to get hurt and quit the show a few weeks down the road.)
We cut away from her and we see other contestants stretching in a back stage area.
Robert #20. "I'm not going home without the title! You better believe that!". #19 was side by side with Robert and joked around how he meant "contract" and not "title". Both of them have a laugh about it.
Robert is in the ring now. He tells us he is 20 year old and from Chicago, Illinois. Robert does the push-up repetitions fairly well.
Robert said he had a Tough life growing up. He did not have a father but had a mother who raised three "big" boys and an older sister.
He thinks he is just like any other person who wants to fulfill a dream Al Snow asks Robert to tell the judges the worst time in his entire life.
Robert said it had to be the time he was homeless watching his mother sleep on the floor next to him in the back of a hair salon. She lost her job and had two big kids, nowhere to go, nothing to eat but chips.
Robert said he doesn't want to go back to that, period! Robert told us when they lost their home that was his wake up call, when he realized he had to do something different so he could make sure his kids did not grow up that way.
(This guy is a keeper. He has size. He has charisma. He has a great look. He is a big type of guy that you want to know more. You want to cheer for and love. He has a hard look about him but a very soft heart that would make him in to a money making machine. His size alone would be a positive in becoming a major player quick in wrestling if he can translate it in to mobility. He can cut great interviews as well and is physically intimidating looking.)
Next we see #27 struggle to get under the bottom rope. "Big" John asks him to show us his physique. He takes his shirt off and looks horrible.
Al Snow joked how he ought to invest in some spackle because he has a little bit of 'Plumbers crack'.
Ross tells us "you can't have a body that looks like you have just had a little of pups" and seriously be considered. I have to agree with Jim Ross on this one. I don't understand what drove some of these people to think they had a chance. Whereas; I do not think you have to be a cosmetic wonder to make the business. I think you have to be in some good physical condition. Or if you aren't (Robert isn't in tip top shape) you have to have a certain x-factor about you to impress the judges.
#27 tried to jump the bags and couldn't. Ross said 'when these kids are jumping back and forth and they sound like an old may tag washer where their heels are hitting the canvas, you know that you do not have an athlete.' Ross stated they have to look like athletes, at least.
We see the contestants who tried out who shouldn't have. Amazing how people think they can just walk off the street and make this show.
Even if they have nothing physical or mentally to offer the show. It is mind-boggling, but hey it makes for good TV!
We see one girl fall trying to jump the bags and Kevin Dunn says "She wasn't average clumsy, she was ridiculously clumsy".
#54 comes in the ring, Greg. "Big" John wants to see his physique.
#54 takes off his shirt and flexes for John. Greg tells us he is 24 from Salt Lake City, Utah. He is a Mormon.
He has never had sex. He was asked if there is a contradiction in being a Mormon and a WWF Superstar (this is treading on some areas, I personally am against - more on this later).
Greg said he didn't think there was a contradiction. He told us he didn't mind the questions because no matter where you go, if you mention you are a Mormon, you will get questions and most likely get a little bit of a hard time.
(Whereas; I think Greg could have been on the finalist list. I have a problem with him bringing his religion in to the contest. If this was not "an issue" to him he would not have made it one. But I also was a bit upset (slightly) the issue of his religion became an issue. I do not fault the WWF and Dunn for pressing this issue, only because it was Greg who decided to put his religion in to the mix. I think he made a mistake. However; having a Mormon who is against sex on the MTV show with hot chicks tempting him in bikini's.. well that could be good TV).
Kevin Dunn asked him why he doesn't have "sex" (which was probably the stupidest question anybody has ever been asked in the history of TV - Kev it is what Mormons are taught! HE IS A MORMON!!). He told Kevin he was raised by his parents to believe sex was special and to be shared with the person you end up with.
(I can't fault this kid on his religious beliefs of convictions, even if I disagree with them. I don't think it should be a factor).
Ross joked "you must have a hell of a grip".
#159 was next. Apparently #159 refers to himself only in the third person, and as "Danimal". He commented he was was going to show all the "fanimals" out there (note to Dan - you were in an empty building) who and what exactly a "Daminal" is.
He was asked how tall he was. "Daminal" decided he was almost 5'10. He was pressed on this meaning he was actually 5'9. He said it meant he was 5'9 and 15'16ths (WHAT?!).
"Daminal" told us he felt he did need to prove something, and show the judges he was special. SO he tossed in a little dance routine at the and of his ring interview. He said he has never taken dance lessons and he does not think he is good in the conventional sense, but he thinks he is so bad he is funny (goofy and off the wall).
Ivory and Holly are huddled talking. Ivory was impressed he bothered to entertain them in the ring. Holly said he did a hell of a job trying to entertain them.
Kevin Dunn said it was one of the worst Kurt Angle impressions he has ever seen in his life. "Daminal" also tossed in an Angle impersonation to his skit.
#159 concluded by telling us becoming a part of the WWF would be a real dream come true in his life.
("Daminal" should go back to "obscurity-ville". I wouldn't select him because he was a jack-ass with the ability to entertain me. He was a total wash to me.)
Rudy from Toledo, Ohio. Who is also the "bitter" brother of Josh Matthews from Tough Enough 1. Rudy Matthews came off as being totally bitter about his brothers success.
He said he has to hear about Josh everywhere he goes, and although he loves his brother, he is sick of it. He was asked why the WWF should put a second member of his family on television.
Rudy said "because ahh, you got the lessor member". Al Snow asked him how much "did it eat you up watching Josh on TV?". Rudy said he watched it with clenched teeth and clenched fists, but Josh had come up a bit short and if gets on the show he will take it home.
(Rudy did nothing for me. In fact, he just came off as being jealous about his more popular, better looking, and more athletically inclined brother).
Next we see a Chris Jericho look-a-like doing a promo (pretty solid).
(I may have leaned towards having him on the show, just because if he made it, he would have a good spot vs. Jericho in WWF).
Next we see a guy with a gimmick called "Demonhawk" (pretty cool stuff but I wouldn't vote for him). Ivory says she was disappointed because they didn't see many contestants who brought them something they could work with.
(Luckily, we didn't have to sit there and watch every second of this competition like the judges did for 12 hours).
#160 is next. Matt, 25 years old from Fairfield, Connecticut. He is 6'10 330 lbs (pretty solid too.. note to self, he will make it for sure. Ross likes 'em big).
Matt said the usual feeling is a big guy relies on his size to get by and are lazy. He said in his case we will find out that is not true
He failed at doing the kip-up 3 times in a row and "Big" John told him to grab the microphone. Kevin Dunn asked him how it felt failing on the kip-up?
Matt said, "Not to good, if you give me some more opportunities, I'd like to keep trying." Matt said he is a very motivated guy. If you try at something first and fail at it, you are going to learn from that failure. You are going to be that much more successful at the end of the day.
Ross asked him if he came from a "big family" (not sure if he meant big as in, BIG or big as in lots of people in it). Matt said he had and his brother was 6'6 260 lbs and his mom is 6'1 220 lbs.
Matt said they are a big family. Ross said that was interesting. Ross said he is a big son of a gun and has great genetics. He is 25 years old and he has to do it now.
(this guy has potential to be a GIANT in pro wrestling and looks to have more mobility then The Big Show (Paul Wight). I think he is a shoe-in to make the show. Even though he would have made the show for size alone, I think this kid made the show on his personality.)
#74 Alicia. She's the cheerleader out of all the women. She was very enthusiastic in the ring and asked the judges if they were ready to rock n roll (she is annoying).
Alicia told us she considers herself to be hardcore and talked about how it was cool to get in to fights in high school (great). She said she gets in to fights when people say the wrong things to her and she gets irritated. We see her driving her yellow-rusty automobile with "White Trash Princess" on the bumper (sticker) and "Player Hater" (sticker) on it as well.
Alicia had a gun-rack with two shotguns in the back window of the car. I guess she is a gun-freak (redneck). Chavo asked her why she doesn't talk to her parents anymore.
Alicia said it was because he parents pretty much despise pro wrestling. Chavo followed up with asking her if that would stop her from becoming a pro wrestler if she made the show. She said she didn't care what her parents thought and she would do what she wanted to do. She said she was "a lone ranger".
(She is definitely a character, I'll give her that. She has a quality to her that could sell. But I think the fact she likes to fight and thinks it is cool is not something I would want backstage. But on this show it could be explosive TV. Her parents hating wrestling could be good for the show as well.)
#110 Annie. She looked physically sound in the ring (sort of a cross between Chyna and Asia). She is 6 feet tall and 175 lbs (she would be excellent if she was able to make it in the WWF). She holds a bench press record of 220 lbs (I think she said CU's, whatever that is). She said she was always a large girl and in first grade she was called "King Kong".
Annie was always teased about being tall and big but she is proud of being 'strong'. She is proud of being big and thinks wrestling could be very good for her.
(She is in. She is too big to pass up. Chyna made the WWF a lot of money, and this girl has more then Chyna had).
We see all of the missed kip-up attempts. Al Snow and Bob Holly are getting irritated during this. Holly ends it by saying "God Dammit!".
Shad 6'8 240 lbs. He is a boxer. He did the push-up deal perfectly and quickly. He says he plays basketball and right now is working as a bodyguard. He said the toughest thing he had in his life so far is how people look at him. He said he is stereotyped as a "quote un quote thug". People think he has no intelligence because of the way he talks and walks. He said when he is chilling he is laid back and relaxed.
But when he is working it is a whole different story and he a beast. He said beast because the beast is the animal all of the other animals love when he is calm but fear when he isn't calm.
(He has to make it because of his physicality in the ring and his size. He has a great look also, and is well spoken).
JUDGES GET BORED
Ivory says they have been there since the early morning till 8 o'clock at night and they are all bored out of their minds.
"Big" John asks one contestant to tell us why they should be a part of Tough Enough 2 and they show footage of a bunch of people saying why they should make the show. Holly concluded this with "GOD DAMMIT!"
Ivory went backstage and got a standing ovation from the remaining contestants (who had not appeared yet). She huddled them all around and told them to go out there and make 'fools' out of themselves.
Ivory told them she does it every time she is on WWF TV. And they need to show the judges something special. I guess she did this to entertain the judges so they were not as bored.
BACK TO THE INTERVIEWS
Hawk. He does all of the required exercises in the ring while at the same time acting loud and goofy. He tells us he has mastered A.D.D. and is not on Ritalin or any other drug anymore because he has mastered it.
Ivory asked Hawk if he was always this energetic and he said he was. She then asked him if he was ready to run over to the water fountain and jump in the water. Hawk didn't think about it twice, dropped the mic and ran full speed in to the water.
Holly was laughing about it and said "that's great". Ross commented to Al Snow "that son of a bitch is as goofy as a pet coon".
Hawk rolled back in the ring all wet and got the mic and was asked to do it again. So he dropped the microphone and off he was to do it a second time. All the judges seemed to be impressed and happy for the first time since this show began (even Holly).
(This goof-ball is to over-the-edge, crazy, goofy, whacky, he is a walking character. He has to be on my list. He could be one of the greatest characters in wrestling. He already has a ring name too).
Aaron 23 years old Virginia Beach, Virginia. He told Ivory he watched her in GLOW wresting and she has the same sparkle in her eye he saw back then. They asked him to do something to himself that embarrassed him. He took off his shorts and had on sport speedos showing his unit. He said he couldn't take off the speedos because of the shrinkage.
Brendon 24 Newark, New Jersey was featured next in a promo saying he is tired of all the fat hillbillies in pro wrestling (I guess he has not watched wrestling in years, eh?).
HA HA! Then they show him in the ring as the promo is running and slowly stop it as the guy in the promo isn't in the same shape as the guy in the ring.
Beth Holmes (Supervising Producer Tough Enough) was looking at the photo he had sent in of himself and it wasn't him. The guy in the photo had a very different physique then the one in the ring.
Ivory wanted to know if it was computer generated. His defense was he likes to eat a lot. He was asked how on the tape he sent in a few weeks ago he was in the same shape as in the photo, but now two weeks later he is obviously not in that condition. He patted his belly and said, "this is from Halloween" (MORON). He was thanked and was gone.
(comedy fodder, I think this is funny).
John 22, Palos Verdes, California. We see him doing the push-ups and actually clapping his hands once below and once behind during his repetitions (impressive). He was Vice President of his Gymnastic club last year and is involved in a Kung Fu club this year.
He break dances a couple nights a week. Ivory was impressed that nothing on his body was jiggling around while he was doing all of his exercises in the ring. He did a back flip in to a perfect kip-up for no apparent reason (to impress them I guess).
Ross said "the son bitch is an athlete". John said when some people play a new song they 'get off' on that, when he learns a new physical skill that is when he has had a good day. Jim Ross wanted to see him do a "Spinaroonie".
John responded as if he didn't know what a "Spinaroonie" was. Ross followed it up asking him if he watched the show or was a fan of the WWF. John winked and pointed at Ross (pretentious prick) and did the Spinaroonie.
(John had the ability and talent to make it. But unfortunately he was mocking the WWF and wrestling. He knew what the Spinaroonie was but wanted to make a point of pointing and winking at Ross to show him up. He did the extra flip in to the kip-up to sort of show them up as well. Actually everything he did was to show them up.)
Linda 23 Cincinnati, Ohio. She is the first person in her family to graduate from college. She in a big family (10). She said all her other brothers and sisters think her mother gave her the most by allowing her to play basketball and go to college. So graduating college was the payback she could give to her mother. She says her other brothers and sisters did not turn out to well.
Ross wanted to know when she was playing basketball if she was a tough physical player or a finesse player? She said she played with tenacity and was the type of player who would do 'anything to help her team win'.
Kevin Dunn said she was the best so far he has seen.
(I got to think that was the right answer).
Pete 20 Manalapan, New Jersey. He said up until a few years ago he was a chubby kid. Dunn wanted to know what his chances would be of hooking up with somebody in the house. Pete said it would probably not be good since he does not have a high self-esteem.
Snow said "you seem pretty confident to me!". Pete said he is confident about certain things but with women he lacks confidence (MTV would love this kid on the show.. Great TV). Pete thanked them for giving him the chance and then told us he thinks god is on his side in this one.
(He has a good chance, but I would not rank him on my finalist list.)
WHAT CHAVO WANTS
Chavo told us he would rather have the contestants come out and tell him about who they are and about their lives rather then come out and cut a promo telling him how great they are and doing a wrestling act. We see footage of promo's being cut by contestants now.
Bob Holly is cracking up during one woman's promo (it was so bad it was hilarious). Ross was seen shaking his head after a few more. Now we land on some guy who has a whip and looks sort of like D.C. Drake. He even had wrestling tights on (guess he is an independent wrestler).
One tried to do a Worm and Al Snow said she looked like she was having a seizure in the ring (good line).
BACK TO THE INTERVIEWS
Kenny 20 Las Vegas, Nevada. He said if you are going to be a champion you have to be good at everything you are going to do. He said he loves wrestling and he said his favorite time was once when their dorm caught on fire but they stayed to watch Monday Night RAW. He said they thought it was just a fire-drill.
(I think he has a good chance).
Al Snow says a lot of people say they will do what it takes but when it comes right down to it, will they?
Jackie 19 Columbus, Ohio. She told us she thought she should have been chosen for the last Tough Enough. She has trained harder then she ever has before. We see her doing the push-ups with cleavage being exposed
Ivory asked if she was a crazy girl and she said she was. Ivory asked if she would do anything to get in to the house and again she said she would. Ivory asked if she would go run over and jump in the water right now?
Jackie hesitated and she said she would but "honestly I don't want to be pushed and pulled around." (what is that? Excuse 101 for not doing something?). Ivory thanked her for coming.
Jackie thought about it for a second and then dropped the microphone and ran towards the water. Ivory said "you are doing the right thing baby."
(I think Jackie saved herself because in hindsight thinking about what you are asked to do, and then weighing the consequences of not doing it, only to do it.. is a good combination. I would rather have a person working for me who isn't simply going to do everything that I ask them to do, but are going to think about it first and decide if it is in the best interest of their careers first, but hey that is just me. I think WWF likes cleavage and she showed a lot during her push-ups. So she's in).
Dan 19 Eureka, California. He was walking around the ring talking to the imagination fans.
Al Snow was holding his face in his hands he was so bored. They showed a promo with Dan in his nWo t-shirt with sun glasses on and he said he was "counting down the days" until he could get at Tazz (note to self: If I ever try out for a WWF show, don't insult a guy that is named The Human Suplex Machine).
Kevin Dunn asked him why he doesn't like Tazz and he responded, "Tazz is a piece of shit". Snow asked him how threatening could he think he is in his "pajama's" and he replied "about as threatening as if I was carrying a head down to the ring" (good shot at Snow, but not a way to make the show).
Bob Holly told him to have a nice day and they thanked him to goneville.
Kevin Dunn told him "you will go a long way in life hating Tazz by the way.". "Big" John turned to Kevin Dunn and on the screen we got to see what he said ("I want him in the final 25."). Kevin Dunn perplexed said, "why?" and "Big" John responded, "Just wait...".
(I am interested to see what Mr. John has planned for this geek. I think he should be stretched myself.)
Jesse 21 Greenfield, Wisconsin. "Big" John wanted to know if she was ready to work out 8-10 hours everyday for 10 weeks. She said there is going to be pain she never felt before and if she can do it once time and get up and feel the pain, knowing she had to go and do it 20 more times, she thinks she can do it.
"Big" John asked if she was ready to be thrown around the ring. She responded, "I hope so cause if I'm not I'm screwed right?". This had most of the judges cracking up. She said "I'm so screwed if I'm not!" and one of the judges responded, "so are we"
She said she doesn't look tough, and the fans are classified as normal people, and she considers herself to be one of those normal people. She feels she is one of those people the fans can relate to and bring them closer to the sport (I agree).
Dunn asked her to tell us something about herself that would make us think she was tough because he does not feel as if she is tough right now. Jesse said she has been on her own since she was 17 years old.
She has paid her own bills and her mothers bills and her mother suffers from depression. She has a tattoo of life on her back from the first time her mother tried to kill herself and she got the tattoo because she thought her mother was going to die.
She has done everything she had to do to survive and she is doing pretty good right now and it is all because of her. Al Snow said she might be able to hold up because she had a whole lot of heart
(I would agree, after the answer she gave I would count her as the favorite in the entire competition).
Ivory liked her and said she was really 'cute'. Ross said she was okay but he is concerned about the physicality of the deal, and doesn't know if she can handle it.
(I think she will make it because of the factor of being a dreamer and it would make for a good show to see her struggle to deal with the 20 times - plus she cute).
Now we are back for the top 25 names. Annie is confident she is going to make the list. Robert says "I honestly think I am going to win because I am the greatest thing that ever lived!". Josh's brother said "I feel bad for all these people that came out here because they are just wasting their time!" (Note to Josh's brother, I will refer to you as Josh's brother, because you lost obviously!).
Katrina #19 says she will keep trying even if she doesn't make it this time.
Shad says he hopes he makes it because it will be something he never thought he had the chance to do.
Jesse said it is 'do or die' right now. And she wants to jump over every right now to get to the list (she was near the back of the crowd).
"Big" John came out and posted the list. John said he should be clapping for all of them, and he knows some of them made sacrifices to be here, and some of them are going to go back with uncertainties, but he wanted to tell them all one thing.
All of them have something, and told them not to give up on their dream to become a pro wrestler if their name is not on the list. He thanked them all on behalf of MTV and the WWF and wished them all luck.
THE REALIZATION
We see the dejected faces leaving as they realize they are not on the list, and we see the excited faces entering the building as they are on the list. As they enter the building they are greeted by the producers of the show.
Hawk is on his cell phone telling someone he thinks he is about to wake up and find out this is all a dream. Everybody is celebrating, but Jacob is sitting in a chair and is not as enthusiastic.
He said this is not over yet and they still have a cut to make until it is over and it is still a competition. He isn't going to get close to anyone until he makes the final cut and then we will star to bond.
Josh's brother was featured. He said he thought he had it but he wasn't selected. He said maybe being Josh's brother wasn't a good thing after all, but he had a fun time being there. Everyone with WWF and MTV was great and he thanked them for inviting him out to try-out.
ONE IS MISSING
We hear that everybody has checked in but one person.
It was #74 Alicia, or "White Trash Princess".
"Big" John said she must not care too much about the competition if she was late.
The producer hugged her coming in and asked her why she was so late. She said they got (INAUDIBLE - I think slang for Drunk) last night and she would have been here at 11AM if she knew she was supposed to be here at 11AM, but they said they were just posting the results at 11AM and not that they "HAD" to be there at 11AM.
She did not want to show up at 11AM with the large crowd and was going to wait until later and show up and see if she was on the list after the crowd had died down.
(I would have done the same thing, unless told to be there at 11AM).
"Big" John greeted them all and congratulated them all. He told them they would get physicals today and go through an extensive interview process. We see them all getting physicals and cut to Robert getting a shot.
Robert was crying (not real crying.. but sort of play crying) because of the pain from the needle (great charisma involved).
JUDGES CONFERENCE AT GENOA
Alicia is first on the list and she defends showing up late again by giving the same answer she gave the producer.
Kevin Dunn defended her and said her defense made perfect sense because he would have done the same thing.
Matthew. He said he had a great childhood and had two parents who pushed him in everything he did scholastically, athletically, or socially. Ross said he is 6'10 330 lbs, he can move, and he can put sentences together, he is a bright kid with a good heart.
Kenny. He is a cool guy and he likes to have fun. One of the judges said the audience would really like him and Kevin Dunn said "He is so regular".
It was responded with "yeah which is not bad he will be relatable".
Obviously Dunn only wants "entertainment" (note to self write an interesting column on how I now can understand why "wrestling" isn't a high priority on WWF TV, its own producer only like flash and sizzle).
John. John is the one who was mocking the Spinaroonie. He says he would like to be in the WWF because it involves all of the things he likes to do.
Kevin Dunn said he doesn't like him because he is "patronizing us a little bit". Dunn said "more and more I think about it, he doesn't want to be a WWF Superstar, he wants to flip, act, run and do all the things that make up our genre".
"Big" John said "he doesn't do anything for me". Kevin Dunn said he was going to pass on him.
Annie. She tells us her dad was an Olympic athlete. He was in the decathlon for Great Britain. Ross said she is a little bit beefy but has a good frame. Carol Eng (Tough Enough producer) said she is like "Le Femme Nikita".
Jacob. Jake said he is very hard headed like his father. Ross said he thinks he is going to be hard to drive and that will make for good television.
Linda. She said she is one that goes on the court and says it is game time, and not one that is a bragger. Beth Holmes (Tough Enough Producer) said she thought before she was 'flippid' but now she gets the idea she is serious and tenacious.
Greg. He was soft spoken and talking about something that was beautiful (he is the Mormon) and the judges were put to sleep. One of the judges said he has not had coffee in two years and is going to have a cup right now because of the interview.
Hawk. He said the majority of the time he is loud, not obnoxious, but he is loud.
After Hawk we stop the features and go to a cut package of the rest of the interviews. Dan (Tazz hater), Katrina, Annie, Robert, and Hawk were featured in this video package.
Katrina said she was in an orgasm contest in Cancoon and performed one for the show (MTV STYLE).
Robert said he was a retired "player" (we have another Darryl) and Hawk asked "how bad can I be if I drove a girl to another woman?"
Dan talked about why he hates Tazz. He said Tazz has lost a step. He is definitely shorter then everybody.
Annie barked like a dog for us.
THE PHYSICAL CHALLENGE BEFORE THEY FINALIZE THE CAST
Red Rock Canyon in Las Vegas, Nevada. Two busses pull up and stop and the contestants get out and wait. None of them had any idea what was coming next. None of us at home did either.
A mini van pulls up coming the other direction and stops. And we hear some hardcore music start to kick in the background.
TAZZ gets out of the mini van and walks towards Dan with a very heated look on his face.
The Thug is not too happy about what Dan has been saying about him.
We know why "Big" John wanted Dan in the final 25 now. It is payback time for the little bitch. We also got a video package of Tazz for his introduction.
Tazz got in Dan's face and told him to talk trash to his face. Dan wouldn't.
Dan was intimidated. Tazz told him to shut up. Tazz explained they would be running today. Only a little three mile run.
Tazz told them they will learn on this show they are constantly being evaluated, even when they don't know when they are being evaluated.
Today, he is evaluating them. We see them all running now. I am not going to bother worrying about who came in first or who came in last.
Tazz was yelling at Dan the entire time telling him he sucks and isn't anything.
Tazz commented on how Jacob's hair cut is a lot more funny looking then his and Jacob has him beat there. Robert and Matthew were walking (the big guys) part of the time.
They stop at the 1.5 mark. Tazz makes them put on backpacks which have 15% of their body weight in the pack. They are going to run with the pack now. Tazz seeks out Dan and tosses the backpack at him.
Tazz gets on Dan's case again and makes him apologize. Dan says "I am sorry, sir!".
Robert is dead last but says he is not going to quit. Everybody did finish the race.
Jackie said she thinks she proved she was Tough Enough.
Hawk said he had a voice inside of him that told him he could do it when he thought he couldn't.
Jesse said it was tough but she did not want to quit.
Robert said his legs gave out but his heart didn't and he kept on going.
CONGRATULATIONS
"Big" John congratulated them all and told them they all showed heart and determination. They should all be proud about the jobs they did.
THE DECISION IS COMING
All of the contestants are nervous. Robert hopes he is judged overall and not just for being last in the running.
THE FINAL DECISION
Ken Mok (Tough Enough Producer) asks if the judges want to make any changes after the race.
Craig Borders (Tough Enough Supervising Producer) said yes. He wanted to put Danny in to the top 13 because he finished the race first and thought he should make it because of that fact.
Richard Glatzer (Supervising Story Editor Tough Enough) agreed.
THE CONTESTANTS THOUGHTS
Danny said he thinks he should make it because of being first but it is not a forgone conclusion, it could help out a lot showing his desire that he wants this. But you can not be to sure of anything.
BACK TO THE JUDGES
The question by "Big" John was if you put in Danny, who do you take out of the contest? They decided to remove Pete because he was another red head and they didn't need two (pretty idiotic reasoning in my opinion).
BACK TO PETE
Pete said he thinks he is Tough Enough because he made it through the race and to this point.
THE FINAL 13 ARE SET IN STONE
Tazz told them to remember even if they are not picked they are going to be alternates and not to quit because you never know what is going to happen.
AND THE WWF TOUGH ENOUGH 2 Cast is: Annie, Kenny, Jacob, Alicia, Matthew, Linda, Hawk, Shad, Jesse, Jackie, Aaron, Pete, and Robert.
(I guess Craig Borders and Richard Glatzer were out voted when they wanted to vote in Danny and take Pete out. Since Pete was in and Danny was out.)
THE AFTERMATH
Lots of broken hearts because they were not selected. Lots of celebrations.
Robert said he was happy but he is real sad because a lot people deserved it and he worked real hard today.
Hawk said it makes your ego grow to be selected.
Matthew said he is ready for it.
Jackie said it is unbelievable and she wasn't going to give up no matter what.
Jacob said he is ready to go.
Jessie was so happy she was crying.
Pete said he thinks luck is looking up for him.
Katrina felt she deserved to make the show (she was the really cute 19 year old who did the fake orgasm - she would have been on my show for sure). She said she has worked hard for 13 years and isn't going to stop trying.
Danny Boy said he and Pete were the smallest guys there and he did a good job convincing himself he would be one of the 13. He is upset he isn't on the show.
We saw scenes from the next TOUGH ENOUGH and it looks like one of the contestants will no show and an alternate will be named. But it could be a tease as well.
