THE SECOND SEASON STARTS
We see previous footage from the "Casting Special" last week. Then the cameras pan showing us the house the contestants are going to live in. It reminded me of "Melrose Place".
We see two Sports Utility Vehicle's pulling in to the drive way and the contestants dump out of the automobiles.
Alicia tries to open the door, but it is locked. They are all excited about getting inside the house.
Someone is missing from the original 13. Kenny said he was looking around and he did not see Shad. We get a video package of Shad trying out at the "Casting Special".
SHAD IS OUT, A NEW ARRIVAL IS IN
We are informed by some of the contestants that Shad is not there and then "Big" John pulls up and tells us that Shad did not pass his physical and therefore is disqualified from the show. So instead of Shad, Danny made the final cut. Danny is introduced as the final member of the lucky 13. Everybody greets Danny as he gets out of the Sports Utility Vehicle which he and "Big" John drove up in.
Both Aaron and Hawk had video packages congratulating Danny for getting on the show. Danny was featured in one as well and he said he is honestly anticipating what is going to come out of this and he thinks it will change his life.
TOUGH ENOUGH 2 GRAPHICS ROLL
We now get the official start of the TOUGH ENOUGH 2 season with the opening graphics and theme song.
ENTERING THE HOUSE
"Big" John asks everybody if they are ready to get going. They all say they are so he unlocks the door and lets them inside.
We see them all running around the house like little children on X-Mas morning. They all go up the stairs and then realize they are going the wrong way. They come back down the stairs and "Big" John points to the correct location they are supposed to be in.
They all get their room assignments and check out the rest of the house.
Pete said he thinks the 13 of them really mesh well together.
RULES CHANGE? I AM NOT SURE WHAT THIS IS ALL ABOUT
Linda was talking to Jessie and she said they are going to pick two women, two men, but she doesn't think two women will make it out of the competition.
This confuses me. I am not sure if they are going to pick four winners this time. Or if they are going to pick the two best over all. Which would be better. Picking two men or two women or one man and one woman.
Instead of picking one woman and one man, because there is a chance none of the women will be good enough to compete in the WWF. One of the problems with the last Tough Enough was there was no competition between the men and the women. And I think looking at Nidia, in hindsight the WWF would have been better off choosing Maven and Josh Matthews. And not Nidia. Because I don't think Nidia is going to get any better then she is right now.
LINDA TAKES THE FIRST CHEAP SHOT
Linda said she doesn't think Jessie has a chance because she is so small and looks lost. Jessie and Linda were looking at photos of Ivory and her biography history. Jessie said she doesn't look like she is a tough person and joked about how she could possibly be 'like a clone of Ivory'.
Jessie said she was nervous about tomorrow and what they would be doing tomorrow. They all go to sleep.
DAY TWO
All the contestants get in to the Sports Utility Vehicle and head off to work.
DAY ONE AT WWF TRAX WEST
Last Tough Enough was in Connecticut and housed at WWF TRAX East, and this show will be housed at WWF Trax West in California.
Annie said she was just really excited to get going when they pulled in to WWF Trax. They all enter the training facility and walk towards the ring with the WWF canvas. All of the trainers are inside the ring and we get a nice video package of all of them.
Pete said he has been following the trainers for his entire life. Hawk said he was shaking his head in disbelief wondering if he was going to wake up.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Chavo Guerrero, Jr. told them when they leave here, he doesn't care if they love it or hate it, as long as they respect it.
Ivory told them to pay attention so they would not get injured or injure anybody else.
Bob Holly said they had to work their asses off to get to where they are at now, so they in turn are going to have to work their asses off as well.
Al Snow finished by telling them no matter what they have heard or what they have been told this is "incredibly real" (forming quotations marks with his fingers when he said incredibly real).
IN THE RING
We see all of the contestants doing the 'back bump exercise' which was popularized by Tough Enough. Annie and Robert seemed to have the most problems with this exercise.
Annie said she was a little unsure about herself and could feel the fear in her body attempting to do this flip.
Kenny said watching the show and watching wrestlers take bumps it does not look to tough, but this is real tough stuff.
Ivory said she thinks they have a hand full of good athletes here and they are all moving through training really fast.
Aaron said it felt good and he is ready to go out and do more, he said he thinks he is handling the pain just about as good as anyone else who is here.
We see Robert icing down his ankle. Danny was tending to a mat burn which tore his skin off his elbow.
SECOND EXERCISE HAND STAND BACK BUMP OVER A PRONE WRESTLER
Alicia said she doesn't mind when her body is sore but when her brain feels like it is about to explode out of her head she can not take it.
Annie said she does not think she can do this again, and all of a sudden if just hit her and she was tired. She attempted to do the second exercise and ended up landing on Al Snow instead.
Linda said Annie is not performing well and lacking the confidence to perform well is going to hurt her.
EXHAUSTING-PAIN FILED DAY TWO IS OVER
All of the contestants drive back to the house and stagger up the steps in pain. They all go to their own rooms.
Robert was on the phone with someone telling them he was so tired, he can do it, he knows he can do it, but his body is telling him he can not do it. And this is the first day.
Hawk is one the phone telling someone any human being that said pro wrestling is fake should be smacked.
Jessie said Annie and her have so much in common but their outer appearances are so different. We see them huddled on the stairs with each other. They hugged. Jessie said a lot of times they do not have to even look at each other and know how the other is thinking.
Annie was upset and said her performance in the ring has not been stellar to say the least. She and Jessie talk about her struggles. Annie said her and Jessie are very open with each other and it is good to have a friend she can go to. They are in a competition together, but they are in a group and need to help each other out.
Jessie told her not to get so down on herself because if she does she is not going to improve.
Aaron calls his girlfriend and apologizes for not calling earlier. He tells her he has been trying to use the phone for two hours but it has been busy. His girlfriend is not in the happiest of moods. We get a video package of Aaron with his girlfriend Mariam on a beach and he tells us he has been with her for a year and a half. She is not dealing with him being gone that great.
Mariam tells Aaron she came all the way to Virginia for him and gave up her entire life because she thought he was going to marry her, and now he leaves her in Virginia and isn't going to marry her for some show. Aaron tells us Mariam thinks he might be going down one road and she is going down the other road, and he did not get the support he was looking for from her. Aaron asked if there was a compromise they could reach.
His compromise was he could do the competition and try and win. Mariam said that is not a compromise that is him getting what he wants. She basically gave him an ultimatum to choose between her or his dream.
DAY THREE
We see them eating breakfast. Someone (couldn't tell who) was reading "Idiot's Guide to Pro Wrestling".
Jessie said she loves Jake because he has this really mean face and he stares at her and she begins to laugh and he tells her not to laugh to look mean back at him. We see them going through this routine and Jake tells her you have to look mean when you go to the ring like you can kick some ones ass and not smile.
Jake said in wrestling you can not be smiling in the ring.
BACK AT TRAX
More back bumps. Jessie was laughing every time she hit. Al Snow wanted to know why she is laughing every time she hit. She said 'so far so good, I guess'.
Danny seemed to be having problems with the back bump today and Al Snow made him do it three times until he got it right. Danny said after he was not picked he went through some self analysis asking himself why he was not picked and what was wrong with him. He said he thinks he does have something to prove.
Annie said it was tough for her the first day because she was afraid to do a flip in the ring. She did the back bump correctly this time.
Jake said Aaron was his competition. Aaron said he was doing great and has the best advantage over everybody else in the competition.
THE LOCK UP
Al Snow told them he was going to teach them how to lock up properly. We see him showing them how to lock up. We see them all doing the lock up with various different combinations.
Matt said every time Jessie would lock up she would smile. Jessie said she was locking up with people and out of the blue Ivory came up to her.
Ivory told her said she hates what she has seen so far and the overall picture is this is a competition. "If you want it that bad then it is not time to get in the lap of the guys. Locking up is not having sex in the bedroom" (I bet MTV wishes it was!).
Ivory told her not to throw her sex around. Jessie said it wasn't that she just smiles a lot. Ivory told her not to smile. Jessie agreed she wouldn't smile. Ivory asked her if she thought people would be able to think if she could kick her ass if she came down to the ring smiling that way. Ivory told her to leave the sex appeal somewhere else (I bet Kevin Dunn and the WWF people cringed at that request. 90% of the women in WWF have no wrestling credentials and just have sex appeal!).
Danny said when Ivory said that to Jessie, he thinks Jessie took it the wrong way and it broke her up inside. Jessie said Ivory is her favorite women's wrestler and she seems like a straight shooter. She said if she is trying to break her down, just do not do it that way, like her day wasn't bad enough already. We see Jessie in the bathroom crying about her altercation with Ivory. She said it wasn't about sex appeal it was just about being a happy person. She said she never had a problem with being a happy person before. She said she knows she is ready to leave and say just take me down those steps and let me go home.
BACK AT HOME
Aaron was writing a letter to his girlfriend and told us she knows he wants this really bad and he will never get another chance like this. He wants this more then anything in his life (yeah, that is what she wants to dump you sucka!).
Jessie calls her boyfriend and tells him about her bad day and run in with Ivory. She tells him Ivory accused her of trying to use her sex appeal with the guys. She said she was really hurt by it because she idolizes Ivory. Her boyfriend told her not to let them break her, and take away the part of her that is strong. Because that is what is so beautiful about her.
OPTIMUM TRAINING
Nobody knew what this was about. Not even us at home. This was a new one.
They all get ready and leave. We are told it was going to be at the beach.
This will happen daily. The head trainer for this event is Raphael (no not the Ninja Turtle!).
They have to crawl through a net on the sand with their hips pressed against the sand.
At the other side of the net they have to do ten push ups.
They have to climb over a rock climbing wall.
Run through a zig-zag course with balls set up as markers.
Do ten chin ups and run and leap over some low hurdles.
Carry two pink weight jugs across the sand to a designated area.
Jump from a standing position on to a wood stage.
If they make a mistake they have to drop and do ten push ups.
Raphael said it was a level ten work-out designed for seasoned athletes.
Matt said his first reaction was he couldn't wait to rip through this thing and it looked fun.
Linda said she wasn't worried or concerned she was excited and wanted to get started.
We see them all doing this exercise. Linda had to do the net crawl a second time because her hips were not against the sand.
Robert talked about how he was tired and had to touch sand. He was from Chicago and you do not have beaches in Chicago. He said he figured he was going to die going over the wall.
Jake 3:13, Jackie 4:10, Linda 4:57, Jessie 4:41, Danny 2:34, Aaron 7:00.
Jessie said she doesn't know what happened. She just let it all go and she did not come this far to go home. Kenny said Jake and Danny are always the top two and have a competition between themselves now. Danny said he feels really good about himself and tells himself before every competition if he wins it, they'll see he really wants this. Jake said it seems like Danny never gets tired, but one of these times he is going to beat him in this race.
Aaron fell trying to carry the pink jugs and then was trying to do the standing leap on to the stage. He couldn't do it correctly. He fell a few times trying to do it on his shins (banging them in the process).
Hawk said Aaron seemed to be dying, he thought he was going to croak. Jake said it took him a good two minutes to complete what he had to do on the standing leap on to the stage and it busted up his shins.
Aaron said he was blacking out. And the next thing you know, the guy collapsed. Annie said she thought it was just over exhaustion but when he blacked out it was something to be concerned about. Danny said it was not that he lacked physical ability, it was that there was something wrong inside of him. Jackie said it was really scary to see him at that point and she knew there was something wrong with him. The EMT's came and took him away in an ambulance to end the show.
